We set sail from the local tourist dock, touring the wide Ushuaia Bay until reaching the Beagle Channel through Paso Chico.
There we will sail around the Isla de los Pájaros where we will appreciate the Tierra del Fuego birdlife observing Skuas, Black-browed Albatrosses, Steamer Ducks, Cauquenes, Kelp Gulls and Grey Gulls; and the Isla de los Lobos where we will be able to observe one- and two-haired sea lions. Both islands belong to the Bridges Archipelago.
Upon reaching Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, we will be able to see the colonies of Imperial Cormorants and Rock Cormorants, and also hear the story of the sinking of the SS Monte Cervantes in 1930.
Continuing, we will sail towards the East enjoying the wonderful landscapes of the channel and the mountains that surround it, there we will see Puerto Almanza on the Argentine coast and the Puerto Williams Naval Base on the Chilean coast, and then we will arrive at Martillo Island where we will have the opportunity to see a colony of Magellanic Penguins and some specimens of Papua penguins.
There, we turn to return to Ushuaia, sailing near the north coast of the Canal, appreciating the characteristic flora and seeing some historic sites such as Estancia Túnel and Estancia Remolino, where the half-sunken hull of the Monte Sarmiento Steamship has been located since 1912.
At the end of the journey you will be amazed by the view of the mountain range that surrounds the city of Ushuaia and its sumptuous nature that surrounds it. It is a journey of great historical and scenic value that we carry out, visiting privileged and interesting points throughout the entire trip, which you can discover by sailing with Catamaranes Canoero through the waters of the Beagle Channel.
Note: At the beginning and end of the season, fewer penguins may be seen.
